You must be within Australia and be 18 years old or over to use the Aloha Telehealth Service. If you are under the age of 18, you can only access and use the service in the presence and with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you have an underage child who you are the parent/guardian of, who needs to speak to a doctor, you can add them to your account by visiting your Profile when you are logged in. Click on Family Profile to add or edit your dependent’s details. Our doctors cannot offer a consultation for your child if you request the consult under your name.

Every Aloha Telehealth doctor is an AHPRA-registered and fully-insured doctor based in Australia. Every doctor must adhere to the highest clinical standards.

Aloha Telehealth upholds the highest standards of healthcare. Online Prescriptions will only be issued if deemed suitable by our doctors. There are various reasons why you may be declined access for a prescription, such as your responses to our digital medical consultation, your medical history and more. If you would like to speak to a doctor about your condition, you can request a Telehealth Consultation and a doctor will decide if a prescription is safe to provide.

Yes. You can request a female or male doctor. However Please note that we will always try to accomodate this request however at times it is subject to availability and is not guaranteed.

You aren’t required to provide a Medicare number for our consultation service. However, if you wish to receive an e-script you will need to provide a Medicare number. The Australian Government rules regarding Telehealth requires the collection of either a valid Medicare or IHI number.

An IHI (Individual Healthcare Identifier) is a number that identifies you for health care purposes in Australia. If you have a Medicare card, are registered for Medicare, or have a DVA card, you will already have an IHI. If you’re a visitor to Australia and you don’t have an IHI, you can apply for one with Services Australia here.

Benefits of an IHI

Having an IHI improves the security and efficiency of managing personal health information, allows for better communication between healthcare providers, and enables access to eScripts.

At Aloha Telehealth we offer the most affordable fees for medical services that is cheaper than out-of-pocket expense on Medicare-funded services as well as any other Telehealth clinic.

The Australian Government does not permit Medicare rebates for any Telehealth provider where a face-to-face consultation has not previously occurred in the last 12 months.

If you have been prescribed medication you will receive an eScript that can be brought to any pharmacy of your choice.

If you would like to have your medication delivered to you, Aloha Telehealth has partnered with pharmacies to assist with deliveries.

Once your prescription is approved, a QR code will be sent to your mobile phone or email that you can take to any pharmacy for dispensing of your medication. If you requested delivery, the medication will be delivered to your door in the time frame notified when ordering your medication.

The provision of any prescriptions are at the discretion of the doctor who what determines the best course of action. Doctors are unable to prescribe schedule 8 medicines and schedule 4D medicines via a telehealth consultation. Examples of s8 and s4d medicines include but not exclusively:

•   Schedule 8: alprazolam, buprenorphine, dexamphetamine, fentanyl, hydromorphone, lis-dexamphetamine, methadone, methylphenidate, morphine, oxycodone, tapentadol, and pethidine

•   Schedule 4D: benzodiazepines (clonazepam, diazepam, oxazepam, temazepam, etc), phentermine, pregabalin, testosterone, modafinil, zolpidem, zopiclone

Our online Medical Certificates can only be issued for the day that it is requested. Our doctors cannot backdate the date that the certificate is issued.

However, the doctor may consider providing a certificate to cover a specified time period that you have been unwell for, via a Telehealth Consultation. 

Medical certificates can take up to 3 hours to be issued and are sent to your nominated email address. If you don’t receive it by this time, please contact our Support team.
